About
Hey there, thanks for coming to my site. Here’s a little bit about me.
I’m a remote designer and developer based in the Appalachian mountains of Virginia. I’ve worked as a designer and developer for nearly five years.
Just facts, no hype
I’m a fine arts graduate of the top-ranked Graphic Design program at Virginia Commonwealth University in historic Richmond, Virginia.
I fell in love with creative coding in the last two years of my undergraduate degree. Following that pull, I landed my first job as a Digital Designer at West Cary Group, a full-service marketing and advertising agency.
In the summer of 2020 I started work at Oldspeake.io a web development and design startup based in Indianapolis.
By the spring of 2022 I transitioned into full time development work at Happy Cog, a fully remote, full-service digital agency.
Something useful about me
I spend an equal amount of time in code editors and design software. My work process is accessibility-first with an eye on new and emerging web technologies. I love working on projects that align with my interests in sustainability, diversity and equality, and community engagement.
My design setup has been shifting a lot lately, but I’m really into Figma at the moment. For development work, I use VSCode and in-browser web inspectors.
My process is growth-focused, where I’m seeking new information with each line of code that I write. This attitude has led me to new breakthroughs like leveraging aria-live, or combining custom css variables with the clamp() css function.

Advocacy
Despite my social anxiety, I love speaking in front of groups on topics that I care about. I also advocate daily for accessibility, and user experience design best practices. My goal in those conversations is to encourage others to pursue accessibility enthusiastically.
